Objective

From the articles of association (article 3). The foundation's objective is:

  • to support people with a trauma background in their career and social development, so that they can integrate successfully and excel in Dutch society;
  • to promote and sustain mutual understanding, connection, mutual respect and solidarity among all residents of the Netherlands;
  • to make a positive contribution to the development of society, the standard of living and social cohesion in the Netherlands by improving the labour-market position of people with a trauma background.

The foundation pursues its objective by, among other things

  • organising guidance, education, courses, training, events and meetings;
  • providing information and workshops;
  • raising funds and other resources for the foundation's projects and activities;
  • maintaining contact with private and (international) public institutions and persons who can further the objective.

The foundation does not aim to make a profit.

Policy plan

Main lines of the policy, laid down in the articles of association and the project plan:

  1. 01Mission: to offer an inspiring place where people from diverse backgrounds feel at home, break out of their bubble and build on their dreams together.
  2. 02Activities: tutoring and homework support for newcomer secondary-school students (Connecting through Maths), connecting activities and excursions, and, in preparation, a sports and meeting programme (Newcomers in Motion).
  3. 03Fundraising: subsidies and other contributions, gifts, inheritances and bequests, parental contributions and other income (articles, article 4).
  4. 04Management of assets: the board manages the funds; within six months after the end of the financial year the treasurer draws up a balance sheet and a statement of income and expenditure, which the board adopts (article 10).
  5. 05Spending: the funds are used for the foundation's activities. Board members receive no remuneration (article 7).
  6. 06On dissolution, any surplus goes to a public benefit organisation with a similar objective (article 16).

The board was appointed at incorporation and consists of:

Remuneration policy

Board members may not be paid; expenses are reimbursed against receipts (articles of association, article 7, paragraph 5). The foundation has no employees. Volunteers may receive a volunteer allowance; in 2024 this came to € 600 in total.
